1978-79 | Parkview
initiated the sport with over 40 swimmers. Meets were arranged with other private schools and schools outside of the county.
Practices were held at the YWCA in Decatur three days a week in a pool with no lane ropes. The boys team finished 5th in the
state, with Bill Steel setting a record in the 500 Freestyle. |
1979-80 | Parkview boys
placed 3rd in the state. |
1980-81 | Mountain Park Pool opened
as the first heated pool in Gwinnett. It was also the first indoor/outdoor 50-meter facility in the state of Georgia. |
1981-82 | Parkview’s
medley relay team became the first Gwinnett team to win a state team event. |
1982-83 | Parkview’s
Scott Hogg set the state record in 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. |
1992-93 | Parkview boys
win the county championship. |
1993-94 | Parkview boys placed 3rd
in the state. |
1994-95 | Parkview boys went undefeated won their
first state championship. Parkview girls placed 2nd in the county. Rick Creed was named as the Boys’ State
Coach of the Year. |
1995-96 | Parkview boys won county and placed
3rd in the state. Parkview girls were 2nd in the county and 5th in the state. Rick Creed was named Gwinnett County Coach of
the Year. |
1996-97 | Parkview High School Swim and Dive Booster
Club formed. Parkview boys won county and placed 2nd in the state. Parkview girls placed 1st in the county and won their first
state championship. |
1997-98 | Parkview boys placed 1st in the county
and won the state championship. The free relay team of Matt Reed, Stephen Baker, Eric Shanteau, and Jack Gayle set a new state
record. Parkview girls placed 1st in the county and won the state championship. Katie Permenter was named Female Swimmer of
the Year. Rick Creed was named Girls’ State Coach of the Year. |
1998-99 | Parkview boys
placed 4th in the state. Parkview girls placed 5th in the state. |
1999-2000 | Georgia began AAAA and a combined A/AA/AAA state meet. Parkview began a
JV swim program. Parkview boys placed 1st in the county and won the state championship. State records were set by Eric Shanteau
in the 200 IM, Mike Kaufman in the 500 Free, and the 400 Free Relay team with Jeff Craig, Eric Shanteau, Landon Odom, and
Mike Kaufman. Parkview girls placed 2nd in the county and 4th in the state. Ashley Daly set a state record in 200 IM. Rick
Creed was named AAAA Boys’ Coach of the Year. |
2000-01 | Parkview boys
placed 1st in county and won the state championship. Eric Shanteau set a set record in 200 IM. Eric Shanteau, Jeremy Oversier,
John Millen, and Mike Kaufman set a record in the 400 Free Relay. Parkview girls placed 3rd in the state. Rick Creed was named
Boys’ Coach of the Year. |
2001-02 | Parkview boys
placed 1st in the county and won the state championship. State records were set by Eric Shanteau in the 200 IM, Mike Kaufman
in the 500 Free, the 200 Medley Relay of David McManic, Eric Shanteau, Mike Kaufman, and John Millen, and the 400 Free Relay
with swimmers Eric Shanteau, John Millen, Michael Miller, and Mike Kaufman. Rick Creed was named Boys’ Coach of the
Year. |
2002-03 | Parkview boys won their 11th straight county championship. They won
their 4th straight state championship. John Millen set a state record in 500 Freestyle. Parkview girls placed 2nd
in the state. Rick Creed was named Boys’ Coach of the Year. |
2003-04 | Parkview boys
placed 4th in the state. |
2004-05 | Parkview boys
placed 3rd in the state. |
2005-06 | Parkview boys
placed 1st in the county and won the state championship. Parkview girls placed 2nd in the county and
placed 8th in the state. Jack Gayle is named Boys’ Coach of the Year. |
2006-07 | Parkview
boys won the state championship. Parkview girls placed 2nd in the state. |
2007-08 | Parkview
boys placed first in the county championship and 2nd in the state championship. Andrew Ruffing was the state champion
in the 100 backstroke, as was the boy’s 200 medley relay team of Andrew Ruffing, Steven Jones, Jason Rogers and Collin
Burchins. Parkview girls placed 6th in the sate. |
2008-09 | Parkview
